Powerball launch set

Posted By on Wed, Aug 26, 2009 at 3:18 PM

The state Lottery Commission said today that Powerball should launch Oct. 31.

Fellow in Ernie P.'s home state just won $260 million, a little less than I'm counting on when I hit, but a decent sum. Ernie P.'s successor lauded the winner for being a supporter of education and playing the lottery "responsibly." Hey, that's me to a T.

I believe I'll take the lump sum -- $129 million in this case. Taxes would leave me about $70 million. That ought to hold me for a while.
