Brummett: The late senator's record suggests it's time for a Democratic compromise on health care, even if it's about an eighth of a loaf. This presumes, of course, that the Republicans (or Democratic insurance lobby stooges) will go along with anything.

The overriding problem, Charles Blow writes, (link fixed) is a lack of trust in government.
