Socialism American style

Posted By on Sun, Sep 6, 2009 at 10:17 AM

American society is rife with government-supported services, some of which compete with the private sector better than others. Brummett has some sport with the topic today -- the sport mostly at the expense of Republicans and the health care industry, facing ruin, they claim, from competition from government insurance. Conclusion:

We must preserve and protect private health insurers, because they’ve served us so well in their monopolistic insularity with all their innovation, special packages, premium services and competitive pricing.

Brummett forgot to mention universal access to all, no matter how sick. It is an upside-down world when the average overcharged, undercovered American sees the health insurance racket as the good guys in this debate.
