High on Cotton

Some supercharged Republican politicos (their number doesn't match their energy just yet), are touting Arkansas native Tom Cotton (pictured), a Washington-area lawyer currently on active military duty, as the great right's hope to oppose Sen. Blanche Lincoln next year, even though nobody much has ever heard of him.

This naturally stirs a little resentment among Republicans backing one or another of the small herd of other GOP senatorial contenders. One of them notes Cotton is to have a meet-and-greet at Mad Pizza (I kid you not) in Rogers, from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday.

My first thought: Can people in the military campaign? Answer, they cannot. This disclaimer came with an invitation to the event:

(Tom, while still in the military cannot comment his political intentions, however it would be good to meet him in case he does decide to run for U.S. Senate.)

Uh, right.
