Another police shooting

Posted By on Wed, Nov 4, 2009 at 10:29 AM

In addition to yesterday's fatal shooting of the southwest Little Rock man who police said was threatening his grandmother with a knife was a second, but non-fatal, shooting incident, over a half pound of marijuana.

Police said Shawn Burton, 28, of 9001 Tanya Drive came out from a closet, where he'd been hiding from SWAT team officers, with a 9 mm pistol aimed at police. Officer Richard Glascock shot Burton in the chest and arm; Burton was transported to Baptist Health, where he is in stable condition.

The SWAT officers were serving a search warrant obtained by narcotics officers. The half pound of pot and scales were found by detectives called to the scene.Glascock is on administrative leave.
