SWEPCO rates going up

Posted By on Wed, Nov 25, 2009 at 3:13 PM

The PSC today annnounced its approval of a settlement of a SWEPCO rate increase case, with new rates effective today. Rates will rise from 5.2 to 7.1 percent for the average residential customer, with the higher amount on those who heat with electricity.

This includes no recovery for the coal plant under construction -- but still being contested in court -- in Hempstead County.
