Serious reading on the shale

Posted By on Sat, Nov 28, 2009 at 6:55 AM

We've referenced it before, but a reader again points our attention to continued reporting on the potential danagers of gas shale exploration on ProPublica, the nonprofit reporting enterprise. Water pollution. Radioactive waste. Lack of adequate state controls. Etc. Lots of food for thought as the drillers poke thousands of holes in Arkansas.

Coincidentally, the NY Times today has a long look at the pros and cons of shale exploration in NY state, including the familiar stories of feuding neighbors, rural dwellers snookered on lease deals, etc.
