The Coen brothers, at work on a remake of "True Grit," the movie based on Arkansan Charles Portis' novel, are looking for an unknown local-type gal to play Mattie Ross. She's the tough Arkansas girl who joins marshals in a search for the killer of her father.

An open casting call is set Saturday in Memphis. The linked article indicates a future casting call will be held in Little Rock, as well as other cities, but no dates were given.
