Wonderful Copenhagen

Posted By on Fri, Dec 4, 2009 at 10:07 AM

Yes, I'd rather fly to Copenhagen than attend a North Little Rock City Council meeting at which next year's difficult budget will be discussed.

But, I'm not the mayor of North Little Rock.

Argenta News says maximum boss Pat Hays will be chomping danishes on an 11-day Copenhagen junket when an indictment-depleted City Council wrestles with consequences of declining tax revenue, Hays' free spending and the end of an electric ratepayer-financed government. He'll be joining a climate conference.

Say, maybe Mayor Hays can tell conferees about how he uses a coal-burning power plant to help pay for city government. Clean air? What's that got to do with the climate?
