Bryant speed trap nullified

Posted By on Wed, Dec 9, 2009 at 1:09 PM

A Saline County DWI conviction was reversed today by the state Court of Appeals because the Bryant police, which issued the 2007 ticket, didn't then have approval from the State Police to run radar on Interstate 30. A speeding stop led to the DWI. The State Police helpfully outlines police departments authorized to patrol controlled access highways at this link. There's been some change in the State Police letter authorizing Bryant patrols since 2007.
