Ranking U.S. high schools

Posted By on Thu, Dec 10, 2009 at 6:30 AM

US News and World Report is again ranking U.S. high schools. The ranking is more involved this year, beginning with an evaluation of standardized test scores. To make the list, student performance on standardized tests must exceed expectation based on factors such as enrollment of disadvantaged students. Then the schools are judged on advanced placement results.

Here are the Arkansas high schools receiving recognition. No gold medal winners and only two silvers -- Bentonville and Marked Tree. No Pulaski schools appear on the list, though Mills and Central have scored well in the past.
