Mike Huckabee, selling and 'splaining

Posted By on Mon, Dec 14, 2009 at 3:13 PM

Mike Huckabee appeared at the Clinton School today. He was promoting his book and answering questions again about his clemency decision in the case of accused cop-killer Maurice Clemmons. He said one negative consequence of the whole Clemmons situation was that future governors will not even look at commuting sentences for worry of potential political fallout.

Huckabee also answered questions about a potential presidential run in 2012, but mostly dismissed the notion. The former governor said everyone should remember there's going to be a round of elections in 2010 and it's really too early to think about 2012. "If I'm going to jump in the water," Huckabee said, "I want to see if there's water in the pool."
