Over to you.

But let me first add another in a periodic series of rants about Little Rock's eternally disappointing garbage pickup service. I learned a new rule today. No matter how nicely you bag overflow trash, garbage crews won't get out of the truck to pick it up. I was overloaded with trash from the company Christmas party. Rather than balance the three extra sacks atop the bin -- and risk spillage in the hoist -- I thought I'd do the crew a favor by putting the neatly tied bags around the bin.

My bad.. Rules are rules. No pickup of the overflow. And no pickup this week. And, who knows when it might be picked up by special arrangement? 2010? Maybe if I said I was from the Chamber of Commerce ...

(OK, in fairness: I was informed there's a post-Christmas exemption. One week only there's a special on adequate trash pickup.)

Don't get me started on the recycling crews and cardboard. They once rejected a shoebox -- a shoebox! -- that had been stomped flat, but apparently not broken down sufficiently for their tastes.
