Mike Huckabee's quote book

Posted By on Thu, Dec 24, 2009 at 10:11 AM

Adds this one, which I'd missed:

Yesterday, in another sign of the deranged, irrational state of Republican “criticism” of health care reform, “aw shucks” theocrat Mike Huckabee compared Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson to Judas Iscariot.

Timothy Egan comments in the Times on the state of things in the Seante, where a Republican praying for the death of another is so in keeping with the GOP tone that it causes only a momentary cable blip of revulsion:

And there was Mike Huckabee, showing once again his Gomer Pyle piety without Gomer’s sincerity, comparing the vote of Senator Ben Nelson, the last Democratic holdout to join his party, to Judas Iscariot, who sold out Christ.

The Huckabee overreaching metaphor is old news here, of course.

  • Another Republican miracle-working governor

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
