The mean streets near Cammack

Posted By on Wed, Jan 6, 2010 at 10:45 AM

A note to Cammack Village residents from the police chief:

On Tues 01/05 at approximately 6 p.m. in the 7100 Block of Hillwood Road two black males robbed an individual of his wallet and laptop at gunpoint.

The suspects fled in a silver or light colored grey Chrysler Sebring toward Pine Valley Road

Please be careful/observant of your surrounding when entering/ exiting your vehicle. (unloading groceries etc)

PS -- Hillwood is actually in Little Rock. The Cammack chief sent the warning only because the robbery occurred near his small city, surrounded by Little Rock.

UPDATE: Another theft victim in the neighborhood reports that, while talking to LRPD, he was told one of the robbery victim's credit cards was offered for payment at a Wal-Mart and there may be video of the transaction for the victim to study.

  • Trump immigration protest at LR: Quick and fierce

It was not even 24 hours ago that Sophia Said, director of the Interfaith Center; City Director Kathy Webb and others decided to organize a protest today of Donald Trump's executive order that has left people from Muslim countries languishing in airports or unable to come to the US at all — people with visas, green cards,a  post-doc graduate student en route to Harvard, Google employees abroad, families. I got the message today before noon; others didn't find out until it was going on. But however folks found out, they turned out in huge numbers, more than thousand men, women and children, on the grounds of the state Capitol to listen to speakers from all faiths and many countries.
