On 1-9-2010, at approximately 2022 hours, officers responded to a Kidnapping just Occurred at the Family Dollar Store located at 1100 E. Roosevelt.  Upon arrival, officers made contact with Whitney Moore who advised that a black male 25 years of age, 5’6”, 150 pounds, with a triangular shaped face, small goatee beard, wearing a dark hoodie, dark shoes and pants, had attacked her and taken her vehicle with her seven month old infant child inside and crashed the vehicle in a drainage ditch a short distance from the business.  The child was recovered and appeared to be unharmed.

Ms. Moore advised that while she was loading groceries into her vehicle, a black male approached her from behind and struck her multiple times in the face knocking her to the asphalt, where he continued to strike her while she was on the ground.  Ms. Moore advised the suspect appeared to be armed with a possible ice pick.  The black male then stole Ms. Moore’s 97 Toyota Camry, which contained her infant son and he sped across the parking lot.

Ms. Moore had busted lips and swelling about the face from the attack.  MEMS was called to the scene and transported Ms. Moore and her son to UAMS for treatment.

Officers searching the area for the suspect located a black male that matched the description walking near Roosevelt and Confederate.  This subject was wearing athletic type gloves with what appeared to be blood on them.  This subject was identified as Barry Raiford. Mr. Raiford was transported to the Downtown Detective Division and was charged with one count Aggravated Robbery, one count Kidnapping, one count Battery 2nd and one count Theft of Property and transported to the Northside Intake.
