If you build it, etc.

The Republicans shortly will be able to put a full baseball team in its field of dreams for the U.S. Senate nomination. Coming today is a ninth candidate, Randy Alexander, a staff member at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and a Tea Party activist according to Jason Tolbert.

The news is detailed below on some e-mails passed along to me originating from addresses at the Northwest Arkansas Community College and Fellowship Bible Church.

A change of venue for the press conference, originally scheduled at the University of Arkansas, was a wise idea to separate the candidacy from a public institution.

The Democratic Party welcomes Alexander to the race with a statement from Gabe Holmstrom:

“With another entry to the Republican Primary for U.S. Senate, there is absolutely no clear frontrunner in this race.   As the fourth candidate from Northwest Arkansas steps in, this is shaping up to be a bloody primary fight of monumental proportions for the future of the Republican Party.  Will he join Curtis Coleman in calling for a complete repeal of the health care legislation passed by the U.S. Senate?”

A former staff member, Clint Alexander wants you to know that his dad, Randy, is announcing his candidacy for U.S. Senate next week.   I asked Clint to send an email that I could forward to all of you.  As a 501(c) (3) organization, Fellowship is strictly prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office.  Therefore, we cannot endorse political candidates.   We do, however, encourage members of our church family to be involved in the political process.

We wish the Alexander family and all candidates in this race our best.

 Dear Friends,

 I am writing to let you know that my Dad, Randy Alexander, will be making an announcement next week of his intention to run for the United States Senate against Senator Blanche Lincoln.  After much prayer and with prayer support from a lot of friends and family, he believes this is something God has placed on his heart to do.   I was hoping that some of you may be interested in this type of announcement and may wish to attend this event.

This announcement is scheduled to be made at  5:30 pm on Tuesday, January 12th in the Arkansas Union Ballroom.

Attendees may park in the Union parking deck free after 5:00 pm.  The entrance to the parking deck is located on Stadium Drive just EAST of Razorback Stadium.  People will probably want to park near the top level of the deck as the floor the Ballroom is located on (5th Floor) is above the top level of the deck.  There will be people inside the entrance to the Union (from the parking deck) to direct people to the Ballroom.

Although the press has been asked not to release any information until Tuesday, please feel free to share this information with anyone else you believe may be interested in attending, and by all means bring them along.  :)

Clint Alexander

My dad had to readjust the plan for his Senate announcement.  It is still at the same time but at a different spot.  This is my cell phone number in case  anyone has a question.   479-685-3768

Due to a scheduling issue, the venue for the Alexander for Senate Announcement has been changed.  The date and time has not changed. Here is the revised information:

Fayetteville Town Center; Mockingbird Room; Tuesday, January 12th;
5:30 pm

 Free Parking is available at the Town Center parking deck
