I note for the record that Jim Holt, in a radio appearance today by several Republican candidates for U.S. Senate, apparently said he was a Dixiecrat before he was a Republican. NOTED: George Schroeder, the Oregon sportswriter who once worked in Little Rock and wrote recently about his infant’s wait for a heart transplant at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, writes that she has received a new heart.

AND PLEASE NOTE: A reader in our string has a post from Betsy Singleton, Vic Snyder’s wife, about his decision not to seek re-election. Great post. Among others, she said she had been looking forward to a fund-raiser at Graffiti’s. Thanks to reader Never Vote Republican.
