In the mix for Proctor's seat

Posted By on Mon, Feb 1, 2010 at 3:31 PM

Wrightsville District Judge Rita Bailey has announced she'll run for the judgeship vacated by the ouster of Willard Proctor. She may a well-known opponent. I got this response to a question to former Appeals Court Judge Wendell Griffen:

"Some kind and serious people have asked me to consider running for the 5th Division Circuit Judgeship in the Sixth Judicial District.  I am flattered they are willing to support me if I choose to do so, and am seriously weighing that possibility along with other opportunities."

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
