Can't be too careful

Posted By on Tue, Feb 9, 2010 at 4:01 PM

With the aid of a plow and a front-end loader, sufficient snow was cleared from my street today to get me downtown. Just about everywhere else was reasonably clear.

But I note that the National Weather Service forecast shows a chance of snow Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. For what it's worth. And here also, is a Weather Service explanation for the recent weather event. With cool understatement, it says "The initial surge of moisture was a little farther south and a little heavier than expected." Uh, yeah. Snow around Little Rock was 3 to 6 inches, well short of a record. (The 5 inches in NLR and 7 in LR was a record for the date, but well short of the 8-15 inches forecast by multiple media and well short of the winter record of 12 or so inches.)

I think I'll leave you with this open line. And get to a store for some Ro-tel.
