Legislators anxious to convert some general improvement fund money to pork projects now have refused to give Gov. Mike Beebe all he wants from the money to meet some pressing needs. Instead, they'd prefer some other state accounts be tapped. Finance Director Richard Weiss cautioned that they were pushing the envelope.

Oink now. Pay later.
