Beebe calls down the oinkers

Gov. Mike Beebe knocked the legislature today for hanging onto $3 million in local pork project money, rather than spending it on statewide needs. He's right, of course. He's particularly right that this will increase inspection on the spending of that money. The dogged determination of some backbenchers to hang onto this money naturally raises the question of whether they think it is wired into specific strictly local projects. The state Supreme Court has spoken pretty clearly on that sort of thing
