No report yet on Pulaski school boss

Posted By on Mon, Mar 1, 2010 at 1:56 PM

Pulaski School Board member Charlie Wood says, on advice of the district's attorney, it's not releasing lawyer Jack Lassiter's report that reportedly exonerates acting superintendent Rob McGill on a charge of making "racially motivated statements." Wood says it's a personnel matter and, until McGill approves its release, the Board canot release it.

"I want it released," Wood said. He says it not only shows McGill had not done wrong, that he'd taken praiseworthy actions.

McGill is otherwise occupied at the moment. A federal judge has begun hearing evidence on whether the Pulaski School District has taken sufficient steps to be declared "unitary" and no longer in need of court supervision of its desegregation efforts.
