The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals today reversed the federal child porn conviction of Terry Lee Ward because his right to a fair trial was jeopardized by his not being present during his trial. The trial judge removed him from the courtroom before the jury was elected because of disruptive behavior. Ward won’t go free. He’s serving a life sentence on a state rape charge.
