Why even hold an election?

Posted By on Wed, Apr 28, 2010 at 4:49 PM

If new Rasmussen Reports polling is even close to right, any jackleg Republican you can name beats either Sen. Blanche Lincoln or Bill Halter by 10 to 20 points, with Halter only marginally better than Lincoln. (OK, I exaggerate a little. Curtis Coleman, whoever he is, would beat Halter by only 6.)

I believe times are tough for Dems. I don't believe they're this bad. Check me in November. If I still have a pulse.

The poll indicates Arkies don't like Obama, the health bill, immigrants, taxes, etc.

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
