Mistrial in Dirksmeyer case

Posted By on Sat, May 1, 2010 at 12:53 PM

If you follow our headline feature you already know that the jury hung in the Nona Dirksmeyer murder case and a mistrial was declared today on the third day of deliberations.

I'd guess the prosecution must try again, though its shaky DNA evidence and some artful defense seem likely to again make it a hard case. The boyfriend previously acquitted will again be front and center as an alternate suspect for defense lawyers. I think there's one more potential location for a venue change, should that be sought given the Clarksville jury pool's knowledge of the defendant's past run-in with the law, a factor that complicated the proceedings immensely.
