Poll: Lincoln, Boozman lead

Posted By on Fri, May 7, 2010 at 5:47 AM

New Mason-Dixon polling for Stephens Media finds the primary races for U.S. Senate functionally the same as in other recent polls:

Democrats -- Sen. Blanche Lincoln leads Bill Halter 44-32. Given the split of undecideds and protest vote for crank D.C. Morrison, they may get to do it over again in the runoff and see what can move voters off a coolness to both candidates.

Republicans -- Rep. John Boozman enjoys a healthy lead, but still isn't over 50 percent. He got 48 percent, Jim Holt (!) 17, Gilbert Baker, 11. With 15 percent undecided, Boozman looks likely to have a shot at winning without a runoff.

The poll shows Lincoln stronger against the Republican field than Halter, but still trailing, particularly against Boozman.
