Conway: Center of universe

Posted By on Sun, May 9, 2010 at 7:32 AM

Republican senatorial candidate Gilbert Baker turned up at a John Brummett civic club speech the other day. In addition to defending his shouting-in-the-field commercial (above), Baker said he was spending a lot of time in Faulkner County because it was the center of his universe. He needs to turn out a lot of votes there as an antidote to the expected edge John Boozman will have in Northwest Arkansas.

Yes. Here's the early voting report for the first week of voting, through 4 p.m. Friday.

Republican votes in Faulkner County: 384

Republican votes in Benton County: 2,105.

A 60-20 margin is worth a good bit more in one than the other.
