Halter-Lincoln poll: Tossup

Posted By on Wed, May 19, 2010 at 2:51 PM

Research 2000 polling for a progressive group rates the Halter-Lincoln rematch as a statistical tossup -- 48-46 Halter.

Most interesting finding -- a 53-42 split for Halter among women.

Maybe women didn't like the negative tone of Lincoln's campaign. Maybe that's why she took down her "Dollar Bill Halter" website today. She did pledge last night to run a positive campaign if Halter did. The independent expenditures? Another matter.

NOTED: A close reader notes that 88 percent of respondents were Obama voters. OK, it was a Democratic primary. But that seems like a lot, he thinks.
