Breaking news at CJRW (Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods), a giant figure in the state’s ad and PR community since forever, a statement from the board’s executive committee:

CJRW announced today that the agency’s executive committee of the Board of Directors has accepted David Martin’s letter of resignation as chairman and CEO, effective immediately.  The executive committee is grateful for David’s contributions to the agency and wishes him well in future endeavors.

In conjunction with Martin’s resignation, the executive committee of the Board of Directors has appointed Wayne Woods as chairman and CEO on an interim basis.  Woods will continue to serve as president of the agency and lead the agency’s travel and tourism efforts.

Let the whispers commence.

UPDATE: At least four people, some with Alltel background who’d come with Martin back to CJRW, are out today, too, multiple sources say. And others at CJRW are worried that their positions, if safe, may be in for pay reductions.
