Suspect shot by NLR police UPDATE

Posted By on Mon, May 24, 2010 at 10:47 AM

Stephens Media reports a suspect fleeing police was shot and killed by North Little Rock police this morning near Pike View Elementary School.

The dead man has been described as a suspect in a homicide. Fox 16 said the shooting occurred after an officer tried to stop a car in which the suspect was riding near McCain Boulevard and Locust Street.

UPDATE: The latest NLR police update says the dead man is Matthew David Inmon (our original post used only his middle name David, which created confusion because there's someone with a similar name.) He was 38 and had lived in Sherwood and North Little Rock. He was described as a suspect in a missing person case, not a homicide case, but it later developed that Inmon also was not the man being sought in the missing person case. He was shot, the report said after refusing to drop a weapon during a foot chase and making an "aggressive move" with the handgun.
