The Pulaski County Election Commission has posted returns from early voting. Blanche Lincoln carried the early box big – 5,268 to 3,679 over Bill Halter.

Joyce Elliott had a bigger margin — 5,871 to 2,989 — over Robbie Wills in the 2nd District Dem runoff.

In other races in Pulaski early voting: Pat O’Brien swamped Mark Wilcox for secretary of state; L.J. Bryant leads Monty Davenport for land commissioner; John Walker is leading Terri Hollingsworth in that state representative runoff.

FURTHER MUSING: Early vote at 58 percent in Pulaski for Blanche Lincoln where she only got 53 percent in the preferential primary? That’s big if it carries through to voting for the night. It could make a fool of all the wise guys, me included, who thought Halter had gained the edge. But it’s early.
