Gay pride parade on in Fayetteville

Despite an astro-turfed e-mail campaign organized by the Mississippi-based American Family Association, the Northwest Arkansas Gay Pride Parade remains on for Saturday in Fayetteville. Will Phillips, the West Fork youngster whose symbolic support for gay people through refusal to join Pledge of Allegiance exercises became a worldwide story, will be grand marshal.

Mayor Lioneld Jordan declined to pull the city's support for the event, as the Religious Right group had demanded.
