What's a Thune?

Posted By on Fri, Jul 9, 2010 at 3:12 PM

The Benton Courier reports that U.S. Sen. John Thune, a South Dakota Republican who's getting some mention as a presidential candidate in 2012, will be in Saline County in late August to aid the candidacy of Jeremy Hutchinson, the Republican candidate for the state Senate seat being vacated by term-limited Shane Broadway. I'm guessing there will be a fund-raiser. Hard to figure Thune would have much throw-weight kissing babies in the Walmart parking lot. Maybe Rep. Dawn Creekmore, the nominal Democrat in the race, could bring in Steny Hoyer for her bid.

UPDATE: I think Thune will be helping raise cash for John Boozman, too.

Nor did he mention the pain his budget will cause millions of Americans.
