A 2nd House Dem faces ethics charges

Posted By on Mon, Aug 2, 2010 at 2:23 PM

As expected, Rep. Maxine Waters has officially joined Rep. Charles Rangel as a target of the House Ethics Committee. Simple thoughts: 1) Democrats as well as Republicans are moving on apparent improprieties; 2) charges are only allegations, due process requires that they be given an opportunity to contest them if they choose, 3) it doesn't look good for either Rangel or Waters, particularly Rangel based on what I"ve read, and he'd serve scandal-free government and his party well by hanging it up.
