Center for Social Justice at Philander

Posted By on Mon, Aug 9, 2010 at 8:18 AM

The details will be announced Thursday, but Philander Smith College says it is to receive a "major" grant from the Kresge Foundation to establish a Center for Social Justice at Philander. Greater engagement in the community on social justice issues has been a hallmark of Philander President Walter Kimbrough's tenure. It's an effort that sometimes seems (refreshingly) out of step with the me-first tenor of the times. Good news.
