The Republican tide

Posted By on Tue, Aug 10, 2010 at 6:19 AM

Depressed enough yet about the coming election season? This won't help. Polling by a Republican research firm — and it's not deep enough to be strictly bankable — shows a chance for Republicans to take the Senate, too. The article lists all the asterisks on this theme. But I thought this was interesting. Though a majority believe George W. Bush is more responsible for the current sorry state of affairs than President Obama, a majority nonetheless chose a generic Republican campaign pitch over a generic Democratic pitch. This is more evidence that a Democratic strategy to run against the Bush record might not be sound.
