Mike Huckabee: King of Iowa

Posted By on Mon, Aug 16, 2010 at 9:53 AM

A new Republican poll shows Mike Huckabee atop (albeit just 22-18) a field of potential GOP candidates for the Iowa Republican caucus of 2010.

I think I'll defer to former Huckabee volunteer Jason Tolbert for the analysis of this. Huckaee did win Iowa and its Religious Right-influenced vote in 2008. New Republican rules that push back the date of the event may yet play a factor in that state's importance as well.

I got the message today before noon; others didn't find out until it was going on. But however folks found out, they turned out in huge numbers, more than thousand men, women and children, on the grounds of the state Capitol to listen to speakers from all faiths and many countries.
