Poll: Tim Griffin leads Joyce Elliott

Posted By on Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 9:45 AM

A new Talk Business Quarterly poll gives Republican Tim Griffin a 17-point lead (52-35) over Democrat Joyce Elliott in the race for 2nd District Congress to succeed Rep. Vic Snyder.

Favorable/unfavorables equally grim. People either don't know about Griffin's shady past or, worse, don't care. If Elliott is campaigning vigorously, it's not showing in poll numbers so far. Republican-leaning independents and 30 percent of self-identified Democrats leaning Republican are factors.
