Josh Fox brought his documentary "Gasland" to Little Rock last night with a screening at the Clinton School of Public Service. The documentary, which won top honors at the Sundance Film Festival, was well received by a large crowd. As it turns out, the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce's efforts to belittle the director, and the content of his film, backfired. Some in the audience said they wouldn't have ever known about the movie were it not for our recent blog post. The letter sent to chambers throughout the Fayetteville Shale region referred to Fox as a "New York city filmmaker." The taunt reminded me of the old Pace picante sauce commercials. "This film's made in New York City." "Get the rope."

After the screening, Fox and a host of others, including Arkansans who were featured in some of the film's bonus footage, took questions from the audience. Jack White, who has suffered damage to his water since drilling began in Sebastian County was on hand. We wrote about Jack's plight nearly two years ago.
