Housing sales plummet

Posted By on Tue, Aug 24, 2010 at 10:39 AM

Housing sales plummeted in July to the lowest level in 15 years, another indicator that the country is far from turn-around.

Arkansas's housing sale reports run a month behind, so the most recent available are for June, just a hair over the number of sales in June 2009. A tax credit that has now expired was thought to have had some continuing impact in June. Here's the report for June.

UPDATE: The link to the summary now takes you to a corrected version of the report originally distributed by Arkansas Realtors. But, a Fort Smith website is skeptical about the whole enterprise.
