Shocking: Mason-Dixon polling for Stephens Media shows President Obama is viewed unfavorably by 55 percent of Arkansans. (Sarcasm intended.)

What's it all mean? Who knows? Same polling showed Sen. Mark Pryor with better favorability numbers than Heisman hopeful Ryan Mallet — 34-31. Tough crowd. Pryor's unfavorables were a good bit higher, however.

The interesting finding is that 45 percent of those surveyed don't know Ryan Mallett. It's worth remembering. Not every single person hangs on every word about Hog football. Or heads to the woods on opening day of deer season. Or is consumed by whatever the day's flavor of excitement might be. Different strokes.

Meanwhile, go Hogs. Though they are playing a team today with a fine mascot.
