Unemployment rate up in August

Posted By on Tue, Sep 21, 2010 at 9:59 AM

Arkansas's unemployment rate rose from 7.4 in July to 7.5 percent in August, the state reports.

PS — Republican Jim Keet has naturally issued a news release blaming Gov. Mike Beebe for the job loss. Everybody can play this game, by the way, David Whitaker, Democratic candidate for 3rd District Congress, has called out Republican Steve Womack for failing to offer any jobs program except to "complaint about non-existent tax increases" and call for more offshore oil drilling.
