Monday, Monday

Posted By on Mon, Sep 27, 2010 at 5:05 PM

The night is yours.

I'll probably keep humming "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" for two or three more days. As Durango said earlier, the Rep''s staging of "Evita," which I saw Sunday night, was typically first rate. Strong lead voices, muscular and sensual dance, spare but evocative sets and finely crafted details in even small roles, such as the child players. The Argentina newsreels were particularly effective.

"Evita" runs through Oct. 3.

  • Another Republican miracle-working governor

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
