Please note that on-line balloting is underway, with some new categories, in our annual Readers Choice contest for the Best Arkansas Restaurants. A bit of a discussion about restaurants is underway on the Eat Arkansas blog item about this year's contest.

Do you love or hate chain restaurants? Or perhaps fall somewhere in between? I'll also entertain challenges to my nomination of the hot Shipley doughnut as nature's nearly most perfect food (however perfectly unhealthy it may be).

Just think: If Democrats had turned out 78,000 more votes in three states in November, people could be reveling today in the prospect of impeaching and convicting President Hillary Clinton, not Donald Trump, as some Republican lawmakers had promised to try to do if she won.
