The reviews have begun of the Coen brothers' remake of "True Grit" and they are gushing so far. Here, a reviewer praises the work, particularly, for preserving the words of Charles Portis, the Little Rock author on whose novel the movie is based.

I think even people who love the original film are going to find room in their hearts for this new version, and for people who don't know the original, this is going to be a revelation. Every bit of humor, terror, and heart that is contained in the Portis book made it into the film, and that's a remarkable thing.
