If I were Pat Hays ...

... I'm not sure I'd have been a character witness for North Little Rock Alderman Sam Baggett. But political deals past and potentially in the future might have entered into the mayor's decision. From the sound of testimony so far, Baggett's time on the Council could be nearing an end. Did I read correctly? Did Baggett's pay as an alderman not disqualify him for disability checks he claimed for his fear of being out in public places? The parade of dubious characters, shady deals and criminal acts in this trial has been something to behold.
