The GOP's big tent

Posted By on Tue, Feb 1, 2011 at 8:49 AM

State Republican Chairman Doyle Webb thinks the Jackson County Republican chairman, John Casteel, should sever his ties with a racist organization. (We've reported on his ties previously.)

Better, it would seem, for Webb to ask Casteel to sever his ties with the Republican Party, if the group's (and Casteel's) principles really do run counter to those of the Republican Party. Maybe Webb fears a backlash from others in the party for disinviting a racist party official. The race card certainly didn't hurt the GOP in 2010, after all.
