Slipping and sliding

Posted By on Wed, Feb 9, 2011 at 1:58 PM

Remember "The Reivers," the Faulkner story in which a farmer maintains a fine mud hole that is always good for yielding a traveler in need of rescue, at a price? I'm reminded of it by the certainty that any snowy day will find lots of slip-sliding action on University Avenue between Evergreen and Cantrell, as Brian Chilson did this morning.

NOTED: Park Plaza gave up and closed at 2 p.m. today. McCain Mall closed at noon.
