Mike Huckabee leads presidential poll

Posted By on Fri, Feb 11, 2011 at 3:13 PM

A new Fox poll — said to be legit — puts Fox News commentator Mike Huckabee atop the field of potential Republican presidential candidates, a bare point ahead of Mitt Romney both among all surveyed and among Republicans only. The question was phrased to ask which would make a good president, not as a horse race question.

Huck will have to grow some, though, to be elected if only 34 percent of all respondents thought he'd be a good president. That's best among a weak field at this point. But it is early.

But, hey, U.S. Sen. John Boozman, who employed Huckabee's daughter Sarah in his campaign, said he'd back a Huckabee presidential bid. That and $2 will buy you a 40 in most convenience stores.
